The Flying Squid Challenge #4
Measure the height of each of your family members by using non-traditional units.
Fun measurement units:
Watermelons
Apples
Blueberries
Rice
Milk cartons
Cereal boxes
Sardine cans
Toothbrushes
Toilet paper rolls
How tall is your squid in apples? The best way to measure this is by lying down on the floor and stacking (if you have enough apples), or by making marks with your fingers as you move the object.
It’s even more fun to combine the systems of measurement: metric units (apples and oranges) with imperial units (crowns and scepters.)
Chopito has mixed seven systems of measurement! He is four toilet paper rolls, one milk carton, one comb, two apples, one cauliflower, five grapes, and forty-one grains of rice tall!
Chopito, the Flying Squid, practicing his bizarre measuring skills.
